High friction surface applications begin

Weekend travel impacted

MIFFLINTOWN — Work on high-friction surface applications will impact four bridges along Route 22 in Fermanagh and Walker townships on Friday and Saturday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

These applications will increase skid resistance at the application sites and enhance safety for motorists.

The work will impact a pair of bridges spanning Route 2006 (Cross Street) a mile east of Mifflintown in Fermanagh Township and a second pair of bridges spanning Route 2003 (Doe Run Road) and Doe Run in Walker Township. PennDOT will implement single-lane closures on the eastbound and westbound sides of Route 22 while this work occurs. It anticipates that work at these sites will take two days to complete.

All schedules are weather-dependent. Due to the nature of these applications, work cannot occur in the rain. The contractor will reschedule in the event of inclement weather. RAM Construction Services of Michigan is the contractor on this $363,342 project.

Starting at $2.99/week.
