Commissioners approve training tracking software
MIFFLINTOWN — The Juniata County Commissioners met for their weekly meeting on Tuesday to approve a new contract between Juniata County 911 and NEOGOV, an agency that provides training tracking software.
The cost of the software will be split between Juniata and Perry county’s 911 programs and the funding for the software is fully covered by PEMA. This new software will provide new opportunities when training, taking the process from paperwork and textbooks, to more modern digital options.
In other business, Commissioners:
• Approved tax exonerations for Mifflin Borough;
• Approved the following purchase of services agreements for Juniata Children and Youth Services: Bair Foundation of Pennsylvania from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026; TIU Community Education and Workforce Services from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026;
• Approved the allocation of the CDGB funding for fiscal year 2025;.
• Approved pending receipt of all required documentation, the hiring of Hillary A. Ayers as a casual, part-time employee within the Commissioner’s office to provide security services as needed at an hourly wage of $22.41 and a start date of Aug. 18. This position is classified at less than 1,000 hours per year and is not eligible for benefits nor is it part of the County’s Retirement Fund as outlined in the Juniata County’s Employee’s Retirement System Summary Plan.
• Tabled approval of a change in polling place for Monroe Township from the Head Start building on Snyder St, Richfield, PA to the Richfield Community Building located at 7007 Heister Valley Road, Richfield, PA. More on this topic will be discussed at the next meeting.
The meeting scheduled for Aug. 19, has been canceled due to a conference. The next meeting is now scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26.
