MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata County Commissioners Tuesday heard a presentation about the County’s reassessment and made a proclamation for probation and parole officials.

“Vision Government Solutions, the company in charge of the county wide reassessment project, opened an office in the basement of the annex building to answer questions and address concerns about the reassessment,” said Steve Russell, County administrator.

The office hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday of next week with a break for office personnel from noon to 1 p.m.

Commissioners were joined by probation and parole staff in a proclamation noting that July 20 through July 26 is Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week.

Michelle Beaver, chief probation officer, was in attendance to accept this proclamation on behalf of probation and parole. Beaver shared that their offices are now located in the former County Jail.

Commissioner Alice Gray thanked the staff for everything they do in the community stating that they are always there when people need them and there for the courts.

Commissioners also:

• Approved the cleaning contract with Suzane McClure for cleaning services for the Juniata County Probation Office;

• Approved a letter of support for Susquehanna Township supporting an application for Multimodal Transportation funding for improvements to Hilltop Road;

• Approved the amendment to the LexisNexis contract for the Public Defender’s Office;

• Approved the Purchase of Services Agreements for Juniata County Children and Youth Services with Common Sense Adoption Services as well as Pathways Adolescent Center Inc., Cornell Abraxas Group, LLC and The Children’s Aid Society of Franklin County.
