Motorcyclist airlifted to trauma
center after accident in Lewistown
LEWISTOWN — A motorcyclist was airlifted to a trauma center after a two-vehicle accident on Valley Street in Lewistown at 8:42 a.m. on June 13, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. The report said officers were dispatched to the area of City Hook and Ladder Fire Co., located at 317 Valley St., for a motor vehicle accident involving an emergency vehicle truck operated by Randy Haubrick and owned by the Chief Logan Fire Department that struck a motorcycle. The report said the operator of the motorcycle, identified as Steve Reitz, was conscious, but not alert. Fame EMS, City Hook and Ladder and Heritage Fire Co. responded to the scene, the report said. After interviewing witnesses and reviewing camera footage, police determined the crash was caused by Reitz pulling onto the roadway from a parked position in front of the truck, the report said. The truck was not being operated in an emergency capacity at the time of the crash, and Haubrick was not injured. No charges have yet been filed against Reitz, the report said. The truck sustained minor damage, while the motorcycle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene, the report said. Police said Valley Street was closed between Pine Street and Walnut Street while the crash was investigated.
Auker arrested for active warrant
for failure to pay, lodged in jail
LEWISTOWN — Jacob Auker was arrested by the Lewistown Police Department for having an active warrant with commitment for failure to pay fines and costs, according to a release issued on Friday. An officer observed Auker sitting in the rear seat of a vehicle about to pull out of the Sheetz parking lot at 1:23 a.m. on June 14, the report said. The officer was aware that Auker had an active warrant, took him into custody and transported him to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, the report said.
Carter cited for public drunkenness on North Walnut Street in Lewistown
LEWISTOWN — While investigating suspicious activity in the area of 118 N. Walnut St. in Lewistown at 7:52 a.m. on June 15, Lewistown Police Department officers encountered Blaine Carter, who admitted to having too much to drink and was cited for public drunkenness, according to a release issued on Friday. Arriving on the scene, officers spoke to residents, who pointed out the subjects sitting on the sidewalk near 20 Catherine St., the report said. One resident said she saw a subject in the maroon pants trying to take a bike and yelled at him to leave the bike alone, the report said. Another resident observed the same individuals trying to break the swing at the park at the intersection of Walnut and Catherine St, the report said. The individuals were screaming at everybody in the neighborhood, and as officers neared the park, they observed two subjects fitting the description provided. Police said one individual was trying to help Carter — the person in the maroon pants walk off — as he was hunched over. Two males present advised that Carter had too much to drink and they were trying to get him home, the report said. While trying to speak to Carter, officers detected the odor of alcohol emitting from him and he was slurring his speech, the report said. The two other subjects had to hold Carter up.
Reeder charged with possession
of drug paraphernalia
LEWISTOWN — Dustin Reeder contacted the Lewistown Police Department at 9:56 a.m. on June 18 after a female wrecked an e-bicycle and semi-conscious in his apartment at 141 Lawler Place in Lewistown, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Upon arrival, police and EMS made contact with both Reeder and the female in his apartment, the report said. The female was identified and stated she was riding her e-bicycle near Burgard Apartments when she wrecked, but that she rode the rest of the way to Reeder’s apartment, the report said. While speaking to EMS, the female walked into the kitchen and police observed an opened black toolbox on the counter, the report said. In plain view, inside the toolbox was a clear plastic Ziploc bag containing a green leaf like substance consistent with marijuana and a deer antler made into a smoking device, the report said. Police tested the suspected marijuana, which came back positive, the report said, and it weighed 8.4 grams. Reeder was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said.

The child stated Thomas had told him he was going to grab him by the throat and throw him down, the report said. In speaking with the boy’s grandmother, she said she had allowed Thomas to confront the child regarding the theft, and this is when Thomas allegedly shoved the child. The report said. When police confronted Thomas, he admitted to shoving the boy and was cited for harassment, the report said.
