Police: Milroy man charged with conspiracy to commit murder
From Staff reports
STATE COLLEGE – Borough of State College Police were made aware of a plot planning an attack on the
State College Area High School for a later date in April, according to a press release issued on Saturday.
State College Police, with the
assistance of State College Area School District administration, investigated these
accusations and determined that there was a legitimate threat. As the result of this
investigation, 20-year-old Braeden Phillips of Milroy, formerly of State College, was
taken into custody.
A search warrant was executed on his residence, and he was
charged with conspiracy to commit murder and unlawful possession or a firearm. He
has been committed to the Centre County Correctional Facility without bail. This
investigation will continue to ascertain any potential involvement of other individuals.
State College Police would like to recognize that the success of this investigation would
not have been possible without the initial report made by a concerned citizen. This
illustrates the importance of “see something, say something”.
In addition to the State College Area School District, State College Police were assisted
by the Centre County District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police and US
Department of Homeland Security.
We are urging anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact the
State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150, by email or submit an anonymous
tip through their website.
