LEWISTOWN — The Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology opens their doors to all fifth graders in both Juniata and Mifflin counties this week, offering a hands-on experience and tour all in one.

“The students will have the opportunity to spend about 10 minutes in each classroom with the instructors and students doing a fun activity to give them a feel for what happens in that program area,” said Jennifer Dressler, career coach at the Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology.

“We have been doing tours with local fifth graders as far back as 15 years,” Dressler added.

The fifth grade tour is an opportunity to introduce Career and Technical Education when students begin to consider careers and explore options.

Each day this week, a different class of fifth graders from Mifflin, Juniata, East Juniata, and Sacred Heart will explore the Academy.
