‘Christmas around the world’

The Mifflin County Garden Club hosted Christmas decorating in Lewistown in recent weeks with the theme, ‘Christmas Around the World.’ Again this year, there was no judging. Participants were awarded a rosette and photos of their displays on the Mifflin County Garden Club’s Facebook page. More photos can be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/mifflincogardenclub/. 1. Dawn and Jeremy Croissette, 123 E. Third St. Painted shutters to look like (enormous) nutcrackers. Lots of red, white and blue.

2. Kandy and Frank DiGiorgio, 15 Grand Parkway North. Old world German Christmas theme, complete with a six-foot Belsnickel (mischievous character who comes a few weeks before Christmas to see which children are behaving).
3. Linda Price, 206 Logan St. Themed sign and globe with a Santa hat on the front door.
4. Lisa Knudson, 112 N. Walnut St. Hand-painted Santa on cardboard covering the front door, antique globes, trees and gilded reindeer.
5. Nancy Charles, 23 Chestnut Street Extended. Wreath, fresh greens, black and gold ribbon, vintage baskets, beads.
6. Rhoda Shafranich and Lisa McCullough, 420 W. 4th St. Christmas Around the World was focused on South Bend, Indiana, to celebrate Notre Dame. Large hand-painted nutcracker, vintage instruments and everything in blue and gold.
