First Bakers UMC to host Bible study

LEWISTOWN — First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. The church will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Pastor James Bricker will lead us in worship for the Pentecost service on Sunday, May 19. The following Sunday, May 26, Chad Harshberger, Director of Camp Mount Luther, will lead our service.

Summer is rapidly approaching and time to start thing about our Vacation Bible School. Hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church and Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, VBS runs June 16-20 from 6-8 p.m. and capped off with a joint worship service in Fayette Park on Sunday June 23. This year’s theme is “Created To Be” and is sponsored by Camp Mount Luther. Pre-register by calling (717) 463-9557 and get a free t-shirt.

Benefit dinner at Christ’s United Lutheran Church

MILLMONT – Enjoy a roast pork dinner with mashed potatoes, filling and gravy, a vegetable and dessert while helping a local family in need. Join us at the Christ’s United Lutheran Church (a.k.a. “Four Bells”) on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can eat-in or take-out. Cash donations and checks (written to “Buffalo Valley Lutheran Parish”) for the meal will be accepted.

All proceeds will go to help the Bolden family who recently lost their home in a fire as well as their son Reese Conklin due to injuries from that fire. All-access youth rally at Paintersville CMA Church

Single Moms Mother’s Day event at New Life Church in Burnham

BELLEVILLE — A Single Moms Mother’s Day Event is planned for May 18, 2024, from 11 a.m – 1 p.m. at the New Life Church, 101 N. Beech St., Burnham. For moms, there will be a Mother’s Tea with fun food including tea sandwiches, fancy homemade cookies, fresh fruit and a variety of teas. The program features two speakers including Seirra Bowersox – “God Saw My Tears,” and Bethani Kanagy – “Budgeting with Buckets”, and door prizes. For the kids, there will be games, crafts, fun and food. The event is free and is sponsored by the Mifflin County Single Parent Family Ministry, New Life Church, and Locust Grove Mennonite Church. Free concert at Word of Life Fellowship Church

HUNTINGDON — A free concert, “the Singing Guitar,” by award-winning acoustic guitarist, El McMeen, will be presented Sunday, May 19 at 3 p.m. at Word of Life Fellowship Church, 6013 Wesley Chapel Rd. (at the intersection with Summit School Rd.) in Huntingdon. A free will offering will be taken. McMeen is an internationally-acclaimed and award-winning acoustic guitarist, who has been included in a “greatest acoustic guitarist” list. Community Pentecost Revival at Kish Park

LEWISTOWN — A Community Pentecost Revival will be held on Sunday, May 19 from 2-4 p.m. at the green pavilion in Kish Park, 1 Derry Park Dr., Lewistown. Rain location is Burnham Church of the Brethren, 541 E. Freedom Ave., Burnham. The event will be hosted by Bannerville, Burnham, Lewistown, Maitland, Parkview, Pine Glen and Spring Run Church of the Brethren congregations and the University Baptist and Brethren Church of State College. Summer art camp at Lost Creek Mennonite Church

MIFFLINTOWN — Summer art camp will be June 17-19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Mifflintown. Classes for ages 7-12: kids’ cowboy art and kids’ cooking.
