First Bakers UMC to host Bible study
LEWISTOWN — First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. The church will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

TLC is selling Valentine’s Day cards and coloring pages to support hunger-fighting efforts around the world through ELCA World Hunger. Please pick up an order form at the church. All orders are due by Feb. 9.
Our 3rd Annual Toilet Paper Bowl of Caring is underway. Last year Lost Creek Presbyterian and Trinity Lutheran Church jointly collected 413,912 sheets of toilet paper (roughly 2,760 rolls) for the Juniata County Food Pantry. This year we are challenging each other to collect 450,000 sheets jointly by Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 11. (This roughly comes out to 3,000 single rolls of toilet paper). Please bring in your toilet paper donations (sealed) during church office hours or on Sunday mornings and leave them in the hallway next to Pastor Karen’s office.
Church Council Installation and Appreciation Sunday will take place on Jan. 28. Please continue to pray for our church leaders.

HHHO Food giveaway
BEAVERTOWN — The Helping Hands, Helping Others, Inc. food giveaway will be held at 11:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Beaver Lutheran Church, Rt. 522 at the west end of Beavertown. You must enter the rear of the church by Gross Rd. across from Boonie’s in Beavertown. The road to the rear of the church will be blocked until 11:30 a.m., or until the truck supplying the food giveaway unloads. Once the road to the rear of the church is opened, you will be directed to park your car. You must then line up in front of the pavilion at the end of the parking lot. You will be able to select the foods you want. Volunteers will still not be asking for income limits, but will ask for your name and contact information. You may bring boxes or bags. Chiz Rider to perform at Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian
MIFFLIN — Highly-acclaimed trumpet musician, Chiz Rider of State College, and leader of Chiz Rider Ministries will be performing at Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church on Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m. Lower Tuscarora Church is located at 54 Church Road, Mifflin, PA in the village of Academia.
Rider began playing the trumpet at age four, and dedicated his life to Jesus Christ at age seven. He has been in his ministry for 37 years, which has led him to play along with Christian music artists such as DC Talk, Newsboys, and Michael W. Smith. He has also performed in the opening ceremonies for The Special Olympics in several states, and played music for several presidents of the United States.
The public is encouraged to attend. There will be coffee and donuts at the conclusion of the worship service in the social hall in the basement of the church. For more information, contact Becky at (717) 994-0438.
