Police seek information in theft
PORT ROYAL — Police are seeking information on a reported theft that occurred at Family Dollar on Market Street, Port Royal.
Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown were called to the store at about 5:40 p.m. Sept. 28 for reports of an unknown man, female and youth who entered the store and took items, including a foam mattress, valued at $12, blankets, valued at $10 and a soda, valued at $2, without paying for them.
Police said the individuals fled the scene in an unknown direction in a red Jeep.

Police respond to theft of medication
MIFFLINTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to the report of a theft of prescription medication from a residence on Parker Street, Mifflin.
The theft was reported at about 6 p.m. Sept. 29.
No injuries sustained in Port Royal crash
PORT ROYAL — One driver was cited as the result of a crash that occurred at about 9 a.m. Sept. 29 along state Route 75 South, Spruce Hill Township.
Police said Jeffrey D. Barr, 50, of Three Springs, was driving a 2019 Freightliner and lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left-hand curve.
Police said the vehicle then left the right side of the road, making impact with a telephone pole.
Following impact, the vehicle continued north and overturned in a field.
Police said the vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Barr was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Woman arrested for stealing ribbon
PORT ROYAL — A 38-year-old woman was arrested after police said she stole two spools of ribbon from Family Dollar, located on Market Street, Port Royal.
According to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown, Rachel Varnes, of Port Royal is facing theft charges. The incident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Sept. 28. The ribbon, they said, was valued at $1.25 per spool.
Driver cited after striking guide rail
MIFFINTOWN — While traveling north on Industrial Park Road, near the area of its intersection with state Route 35 North, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown said 29-year-old Josiah Bennecoff, of Harrisburg, failed to negotiate a left hand turn, striking a guide rail with a 2009 Nissan Versa.
Police said the vehicle sustained disabling damage. Bennecoff was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed into custody.
The incident occurred at about 7:15 p.m. Sept. 24.
