Police issue citation for theft

LEWISTOWN – Mifflin County Regional Police were dispatched to Sheetz in Burnham in response to an act of retail theft and a group of youth acting in a disorderly manner at about 3:45 p.m. May 12. Officers said a 14-year-old female stole merchandise and was cited. The youth dispersed and Sheetz.

Citation issued for hit-and-run

LEWISTOWN – Mifflin County Regional Police were dispatched to South Main Street, Yeagertown at about 8:30 p.m. May 13 for a hit and run crash. According to the report, officers learned that a 2018 Subaru Outback operated by 62-year-old Richard Miller, of Yeagertown, struck an occupied Mitsubishi Expo. The driver of the Mitsubishi noted that Miller was intoxicated. Officers located Miller at his residence and confirmed he was intoxicated. Miller’s damaged vehicle was also located at his house. Miller was transported to the Geisinger- Lewistown Hospital for a chemical test of his blood. Charges pending toxicology results.

Officers dispatched for domestic

LEWISTOWN – Mifflin County Regional Police were dispatched to Sheetz in Burnham at about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday for a possible domestic dispute. According to the report, a female was hiding from a male who was operating a white cargo van. Further investigation identified the male as 45-year-old Robert A. Rupert of Lewistown. Officers located Rupert’s van in the parking lot of the shopping plaza in Burnham. Officers located Rupert running south on South Logan Blvd. Officers located Rupert hiding in a stream just south of the Boulevard Station car wash. Rupert ignored police commands requiring officers to forcibly remove him from the creek. Rupert was transported to Mifflin County Prison to await arraignment on the charges of strangulation, simple assault, and flight to avoid apprehension. Regional Officers were assisted by the Lewistown Borough Police Department and the Granville Township Police Department.

Man cited with theft

LEWISTOWN — A 21-year-old man was charged with theft from motor vehicle after Lewistown Police Department received reports that vehicles had been broken into between May 14 and 15. During break-ins, three firearms, a wallet and money were taken. During the investigation, Devon Leigh Nealman was captured on multiple surveillance cameras and later identified. Nealman was held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility on charges of carrying firearms without a license, theft by unlawful taking, theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.
