LEWISTOWN — During Thursday’s progress update meeting in the Mifflin County Municipal Authority conference room, Sippel Development, Buchart Horn engineers and planners, the Lewistown Borough and PennDOT gathered to discuss the water line replacement project to begin Monday on Valley Street.
The project is presumed to take approximately 120 days to get to a point of substantial completion. This timeline puts the currently projected completion date around the end of July or beginning of August. The Sentinel will provide the public with project updates throughout the process.
The community should be prepared for flaggers, detours, and planning alternate parking measures while the project is underway. There are approved dump sites in the surrounding local area that should be avoided by the public to enable a streamlined process for the workers.
AECom Laboratory and Analytical Services will test the concrete, asphalt and other materials during the project because they are involved with PennDOT’s future project design to take place shortly after the water line replacements are finalized.
