JVEAC to host COVID workplace seminar
LEWISTOWN — The Juniata Valley Employer Advisory Council is presenting a COVID-19 seminar from 8:30 until 11:45 a.m. Aug. 31 at PA CareerLink Mifflin County near Lewistown.
Speakers for this event from the Chartwell Law office are attorneys Joshua Gray, Robert J. Baker, Tom Gallagher and Matt Esslinger.
Workplace issues developed from COVID-19 will be addressed and discussed.
Topics to be covered include: if employers can compel employees to take the COVID-19 vaccine; injuries at home for employees working virtually; modified duty work for injured employees when so many employers have downsized due to the pandemic; and work-related mental health
Seminar registration and light pastries are from 8:30 until 9 a.m. with speakers beginning their presentation promptly at 9 a.m.
The fee is $25 per person and includes lunch at end of seminar, which is payable at the door only.
HR personnel can obtain 2.5 documentation/hours for their attendance
Questions and comments are always welcomed throughout this seminar and a PowerPoint program will be provided to all attendees.

Locust Grove to host grief share group
Locust Grove Mennonite Church will host a grief sharing support group on Sundays starting Aug. 29.
The group meets for 13 weeks and begins meetings at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are located at 3358 W. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.
