Hearing delayed in case of local woman’s death
BLOOMSBURG — A hearing in a Hemlock Township homicide case was postponed Tuesday due to unresolved legal issues, according to court officials.
The delay came as a packed Columbia County courtroom awaited testimony in the case involving Vincent Harp, 38.
Harp is charged in the 2025 killing of his 33-year-old wife, Kaitlyn Harp, a native of Mifflin County, at their home in Hemlock Township.
State police said Harp had been reported missing by family members, and her remains were discovered 10 days later in a locked box down a cliff in Montour Township.
Family members of the victim were present in court Tuesday expecting testimony from six witnesses. Defense attorneys requested additional time, leading to the postponement.
A new hearing is expected within four to six weeks.
