LEWISTOWN — With Goose Day only three short months away, the Wild Geese Flock Together public art project has announced two new goose landings.

“Professor Draguns, Psychologoose” was placed at SAM Inc., 100 E. Market St., Lewistown. The sponsor is Dave Ray and the artist is Tessa Gross.

A few blocks away at Kish Creek Center, 129 S. Main St., the “Olde Time Lewistown” goose was installed. Tim Havice sponsored this goose and Joanne Landis is the artist.

Penn State Construction assisted with installation of the five foot tall fiberglass geese on Wednesday.

The gaggle continues to grow and more landings are expected prior to Goose Day on Sept. 29.

The goal of this project is to recognize our unique local tradition of Goose Day through the talent of local artists while strengthening community spirit and enhancing tourism.

This project, which recognizes our region’s Goose Day tradition, would not be possible without the generous support of the sponsors, talented local artists and many other individuals.
