MIDDLEBURG - The Snyder County Conservation District will hold a workshop to aid farmers and livestock/equine owners/boarders in writing their own manure management plans (MMPs).This workshop will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Conservation District Office, 10541 Route 522, Middleburg. MIFFLIN - Penn State Extension is offering a workshop, "Cooking for Crowds: A Volunteer's Guide to Safe Food Handling." Participants in this three hour workshop will learn up-to-date methods for safely handling and preparing food for large groups. Group needs help to feed 50,000

MILLERSTOWN - As many as 50,000 people could be fed in Juniata and Perry counties this year thanks to Greenwood High School Future Farmers of America.Krista Pontius is the agriculture teacher and FFA advisor. The Greenwood Chapter has packaged meals for hungry individuals in the past - but on an international level.
