Food safety training for volunteer quantity cooks

MIFFLIN – Penn State Extension is offering a workshop, “Cooking for Crowds: A Volunteer’s Guide to Safe Food Handling.” Participants in this three hour workshop will learn up-to-date methods for safely handling and preparing food for large groups. The workshop is appropriate for non-profit food providers such as churches, fire companies, granges and sports teams’ food stands.

February 9, Tuesday evening, 6:00 9:00 P.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 104 Juniata Street, Mifflin, PA 17058.

The cost is $50 per organization (4 or less) each additional participant $5 or $25/individual and includes a food safety manual, thermometers and posters. You can register on-line at extension.psu.edu/food/safety/courses/cooking-for-crowds-volunteer-food-safety or call 801-940-5989.
