Drivers escape injury
in two-vehicle accident
MIFFLINTOWN -- Two drivers escaped injury during a two-vehicle accident along William Penn Highway, Mifflintown, at 3:44 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2024, according to a Public Information Release Report issued by the Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown on Saturday. The report stated Roxanne Hockenbery, 43, of Mifflintown, traveling south on William Penn Highway in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala when she struck a 2012 Honda CRV driven by Cindy Sheets, 50, of Mifflintown. Police said Sheets was also traveling south and had stopped due to another vehicle turning on Cedar Street. Both vehicles suffered disabling drivers; both drivers were wearing seat belts, police said. According to the release, Hockenberry was cited for following too closely.

receives bad checks
MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS -- Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove investigated Angela Listman, 49, of Mifflinburg, for writing two bad checks on separate dates at Stauffer's Butcher Shop, located at 922 Steffen Valley Road, Mount Pleasant Mills at 3:37 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2024, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. Charges were filed by Magisterial District Judge Bo Trawitz, police said.
Middleburg woman finds money
withdrawn after suspicious sale
MIDDLEBURG -- Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove investigated received a complaint from Cynthia Musser, 58, of Middleburg that despite cancelling an order for appliances she discovered money was allegedly removed from her bank account at 5 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2024, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. Musser, who lives at 2491 Richard Road, Middleburg, had purchased a washer and dryer combo, police said. She cancelled the order after becoming suspicious and requested a refund, the report said.
Mount Pleasant Mills man arrested
for suspicion of DUI
MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS -- An unidentified 22-year-old Mount Pleasant Mills man was arrested after Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove invested a DUI motor vehicle accident on Middle Road, West Perry Township at 1:21 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2024, involving a 2008 Pontiac Pontiac G6, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. The report said possession of drugs was also involved. The victims were a 53-year-old female from Richfield and a 50-year-old male from Mount Pleasant Mills, police said. No further details were available.
Middleburg man charged with
possession, paraphernalia
MIDDLEBURG -- Travis Fisher, 30, of Middleburg was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and related paraphernalia after a crash investigation at 5:35 a.m. on Jan. 25, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. The accident happened at Seiple and Creek roads in Beaver Township and involved a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, the report said. Charges were filed by Magisterial District Judge Bo Trawitz, police said.
Middleburg burglary reported
on Bergey Road
MIDDLEBURG -- Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove investigated an alleged burglary at Bergey Road, Middleburg, at 7:49 p.m. on Dec. 25, 2023, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. The report said, the victim was a male, age 30, and inside the residence miscellaneous items were thrown on the ground and furniture was knocked over.
Mount Union man assaulted
near Taylor Apts.
MOUNT UNION -- Pennsylvania State Police at Huntingdon are asking anyone who saw an assault take place outside of the Taylor Apartments, East Market Street, Mount Union around 4:20 a.m. on Nov. 25, 2023, to contact police, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Saturday. A 58-year-old unidentified Mount Union male was found with a wound to the back of the head and an injured nose, police said. Limited information exists about this incident, police said.
