Charlene G. Haines

Born June 1, 1938, in Brownsville, Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late Charles B. Hill Sr. and Myrtle E. Sinamond Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Haines Sr. and siblings, Robert Hill, Charles B. Hill Jr., and Alice Gwynn. She was the last of her immediate family.

Charlene is survived by: children, Scott A. Haines and wife, Diane E., of Lewistown, Robert L. Haines Jr. and wife, Beth A., of Lewistown, James C. Haines and wife, Lori K., of Milroy, and Craig S. Haines and wife, Kathleen P., of Apex, N.C.; grandchildren, Derrick, Chad, Damian, Tevin, Andrew, Joshua and wife, Heather, Alexander and wife, Danielle, Megan, Kyle, Alicia and husband, Kruz, Cara and husband, Mitchell, Amelia, and Emma; and seven great-grandchildren.

She graduated from California High School in Pa.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She retired from Scotty’s Fashions as a seamstress.

Charlene was a wonderful mother. She was a fantastic baker and enjoyed baking anytime for family, friends, and social and church events.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, June 9, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, with Rev. Karen McCachren officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlene’s memory may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan Street, Lewistown, PA 17044.
