Lady Lions place 6th at The Ruckus
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Penn State Altoona women’s golf team concluded The Ruckus today at Williamsburg National Golf Club. Penn State Altoona finished sixth place.
Penn State Altoona compiled a team score of 468 in Sunday’s round on the par 72 course, finishing the tournament with a two-day total of 939 to place six out of six competing teams.
Drew University won the tournament with a total score of 657, Bridgewater College was the runner-up with 680, and Salisbury University rounded out the top three with 714.
Alexis Peacock (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) was the Lions’ top finisher, shooting 60-over par, placing 23rd with a two-day score of 204.
Clarissa Long (Altoona, PA/Altoona) placed 28th after shooting 106 in round two with a two-day score of 220. Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) carded a round two score of 122 to finish the tournament with a final score of 238. Taylor Bezdek (Great Falls, VA/Dominion) tallied 138 shots to have a two-day score of 277.
Next up for the Penn State Altoona women’s golf team, the Lions will host the Pennsylvania Classic at the Penn State White Course in State College, Pa. this Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29. Saturday’s round is scheduled to begin at 10:40 a.m.
