Curve swat SeaWolves, 9-5

CURVE, Pa. – Altoona knocked two home runs, the 28th time this season they’ve recorded at least two home runs in a game this season and cruised to a 9-5 win over the Erie SeaWolves on Thursday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Altoona scored a pair of first inning runs and tagged Erie’s starter, Max Alba, for seven runs on ten hits in the win. Mifflin County golf competed Thursday at Valley Green Golf Club, the home course of Cedar Cliff. MC went 3-3 on the day. MC beat, Milton Hershey, Red Land and Cedar Cliff. The Huskies lost to Mechanicsburg, Palmyra, and Bishop McDevitt. MC was led on the day by Evan Breon, who fired a 77, which was good for a tie for third place overall. Caleb Bubb, shot a career-low round of 84 to finish in a tie for 18th. Chase Krepps chipped in with an 87, good for a tie for 24th overall, and Jude Zook shot an 88, which was tied for 28th place. CURVE, Pa. – Curve starter Nick Dombkowski retired 12 straight hitters to begin the game and helped Altoona cruise to a 6-1 win over the Erie SeaWolves on Wednesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Altoona chased Erie starter Lucas Elissalt from the game after one inning, using an RBI single from Easton Carmichael to push his pitch count past 30 in the opening frame.
