Tigers’ season comes to a screeching halt
OLD FORGE — East Juniata’s boys basketball season came to an end on Saturday in the PIAA Class 2A tournament.
Old Forge (19-6) rolled past EJ (10-16) in a 79-37 victory in the first round of the state boys basketball tourney. Forge possessed a 51-16 lead at halftime.
The Blue Devils will meet Delaware County Christian (20-7) on Wednesday in the second round.
Forge has only one loss since Jan. 29.
The Tigers’ season had several highlights, including a win over Line Mountain in the District 4 consolation round, 55-46. They also beat Neumann Regional in the district quarterfinals, 54-41.
EJ also defeated Wyalusing Valley in overtime, 52-51.
The Tigers would claw other foes like Upper Dauphin, Newport (twice), Millersburg, Fairfield, Belleville Christian and Littlestown.
