Seals roll past Indians
SELINSGROVE — Juniata softball played its first game of the season on Tuesday, but Selinsgrove raced to a 13-2 victory.
Ashley Piper connected for two RBIs for the Lady Indians and Kalynn Brown tossed three innings in relief. She and starter Destiny Yohn each struck out five Seals.
For the Seals, Teagan Richter tallied five RBIs and belted a home run. Brooklyn Cherry, Danika Burd and Molly Hess each corralled two RBIs.
Next, Juniata battles Altoona on Friday.
BOYS LACROSSE
Trojans soar past Huskies
Mifflin County fell to Chambersburg on Tuesday, 19-4.
Easton Zook posted a hat-trick for the Huskies and Dodger Weaver tallied a goal and an assist.
Goalie Jamieson Parkes added six saves and Aiden Harbst recorded four.
The JV Huskies also fell to the Trojans, 6-1. Jake Knable had the only MC goal as Mason Baumgardner had the assist.
BASEBALL
Mustangs pummel Lancers
MIDDLEBURG — Midd-West baseball topped Loyalsock on Tuesday, 7-1.
For the Mustangs, Braxton Smith, Max Trawitz and Alex Trojan each had two RBIs. Smith added a triple as Trojan and Colton Aumiller each had a double.
Aumiller pitched three and a third innings, allowed four hits and one run with four strikeouts.

Huskies edge Trojans
CHAMBERSBURG — Mifflin County improved to 3-2 on the season as they dropped Chambersburg on Monday afternoon, 3-2.
In singles action, Aiden Newlen defeated Trojan Eli Keeler, 6-3, 6-3.
Anton Winter topped Husky Logan Breneman, 6-0, 6-0. Micah Detweiler won a hard-fought matchup with Husky Reese Hine, 7-6, (7-1), 6-4.
In doubles play, Mason Kaniecki and Luke Foltz were victorious against Trojans Drew Staley and Caden Brenize, 6-1, 6-3.
Max Persing and Morgan Crader defeated Trojans Seth Walter and Orran Neff, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).
Next, the Huskies travel to Red Land on Thursday.
Juniata dodges Tussey
MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata tennis dropped Tussey Mountain on Monday, 3-2.
In singles play, Sylvi Gaisior won her match, 6-4, 6-1, and Asher Wriglesworth took a W, 6-1, 6-3. Thea Beward dealt with a tough defeat, 2-6, 6-0, 3-6.
In doubles action, Dayton Miller and Isaiah May lost their match, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5). Kole Boop and Josh Martin won their match, 6-1, 6-2.
SOFTBALL
Blackhawks double up Mustangs
MIDDLEBURG — Susquenita softball toppled Midd-West on Monday, 8-4.
For the Mustangs, Emma Wagner went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Olivia Dorman added three hits with two doubles and a solo home run. Kady Wagner also added an RBI.
In circle, Midd-West’s Kylie Mitch tossed five innings, allowed six runs (two earned), one walk and struck out two.
For the Blackhawks, Braelyn Prinz recorded one hit, two runs and one double. Leah Conroy, Joslyn Shutt and Kylah Fleisher each posted two hits in the road victory.
From the circle, Fleisher went the distance, tossing seven innings of eight-hit ball. She allowed four runs, four walks and tallied seven punchouts.
Midd-West (1-1) hosts Shikellamy on Saturday.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Raiders bulldoze Huskies
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County girls lacrosse played against Bellefonte at home on Monday and fell 15-2.
Zoey Foltz and Isabella Snyder led the Huskies with a goal each against the Raiders.
The Huskies’ next game is on home turf once again on Wednesday against Chambersburg at 4:30 pm.

VOLLEYBALL
Eagles down Huskies
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County Jr High Volleyball welcomed Cumberland Valley on Monday night, but the visitors collected a pair of victories.
The eighth-grade teams went back and forth in the first set before the Huskies eventually fell to the Eagles, 25-17.
Mifflin County rallied by capturing the second and third sets, 25-13 and 15-9, respectively.
The Huskies used strong defense to help gain victory. Grayce Napikoski led the defensive efforts with ten digs, while Addyson Marks added nine and Geneva Kelly added eight. Sarah Hartsock led the MC offense with 15 assists and Napikoski recorded nine kills, Kelly added four and Mackenzie Resto and Sarah also added two apiece.
The seventh-grade Huskies struggled to handle the strong service pressure and were defeated in two sets (25-8, 25-8). The Huskies hit the road Thursday when they travel to Harrisburg.
