Midd-West trio earns PHAC Division I honors
MIDDLEBURG — The Midd-West Mustangs did not have a very successful girls’ basketball campaign on the court.
Midd-West went 4-18 overall, including 0-9 in Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference Division I. However, the Mustangs were well-represented when the 2025-26 PHAC Division I girls’ basketball coaches released their all-division selections on Sunday, with two senior and a freshman Mustangs earning recognition for standout seasons.
Senior Izzy Walter capped her career with a First-Team All-Division selection, placing her among the top players in one of the conference’s deepest divisions. Walter was a consistent scoring threat and defensive presence throughout the season, often drawing the toughest assignments while anchoring the Mustangs’ perimeter play. Her first-team honor reflects both her production and the respect she earned from opposing coaches.
Fellow senior Emma Wagner received Honorable Mention, closing out her Midd-West career with recognition for her steady interior play and physical presence in the paint. Wagner gave the Mustangs reliable minutes all season, contributing rebounding, defense and timely scoring.
Midd-West also placed a freshman on the All-Defensive Team, with Evelyn Weiser earning a spot for her ability to guard multiple positions and disrupt opposing offenses. Weiser’s defensive instincts and toughness made her one of the division’s most dependable stoppers.
Together, the three Mustangs formed the core of Midd-West’s lineup this winter, and their postseason honors reflect the impact they made throughout their careers.
Shikellamy’s Lily Fatool was named the Division I’s Most Valuable Player, while Mike Schall, of Jersey Shore, earned Coach of the Year honors.
