MIFFLINTOWN — High school and junior high school athletic teams are preparing to take the field for the spring sports season in Juniata County.

As a result, the Juniata County School District Board of Directors approved a long list of coaches at its regular monthly meeting at the administration building in Mifflintown on Thursday night.

The following coaches were approved:

East Juniata

High School

• Baseball: Mark Barge, head coach; Bob Price, assistant coach; and Chantz Crissman, volunteer coach;

• Softball: Wes Diehl, head coach; and Tyler Inch and Neal Wolf, assistant coaches;

• Track and field: Johnna Towsey, head coach; Cory Benner, Simon Cameron and Wade Gans, assistant coaches; and Tom Brotzman, Davis Hart and Bobbie Kerstetter, volunteer coaches.

East Juniata

Junior High

• Girls soccer: Tom Feltman, coach.

Juniata High School

• Baseball: Dominic Kirchoff and Blaise Roush, assistant coaches; and Lynford Auker, Kenny Cavanaugh and Danny Wert, volunteer coaches;

• Softball: Craig Bubb, head coach; Jordan Shirey and Stevie Miller, assistant coaches; and Olivia Frey and Jack McCurdy, volunteer coaches;

• Tennis: Logan Aurand, head coach;

• Track and field: Shari Miller, head coach; Jeff Miller, Ellie Shepps and Amy Wagner. assistant coaches; and Maisie Hershberger and Wade Moore, volunteer coaches.

Tuscarora Junior High School

• Girls soccer: Josie Swartz, head coach; Rylee Duck, assistant coach; and Katey Martin and Ellie Shepps, volunteer coaches.
