COCOLAMUS — East Juniata girls basketball got 16 points from Landyn Cramer as the Tigers rolled by Steel-High in their season opener on Wednesday night, 47-16.

Kennedy Seigler-Lewis and Madison Snyder each scored nine points in the home victory. Makaylyn Peters tallied six points.

EJ (1-0) outscored the Rollers in the final half, 27-9.

Ciara Baines had six points for the Rollers.

The Tigers visit Halifax on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Wildcats nudge Indians, 37-33

MIFFLINBURG — Mifflinburg girls hoops defeated Juniata on Wednesday evening, 37-33.

For the Lady Indians (0-1), Mylee Landis had a team-high 19 points and Aubryn Deihl added seven. Gabby Reed tacked on four points.

Mia Reibsome led the Wildcats with 13 points and Avery Reibsome chimed in with 11.

Next, Juniata visits Mifflin County today for a 5:30 tip-off.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Muncy swats EJ, 65-36

MUNCY — Muncy strolled to a 65-36 win on Wednesday as Jaxten Frantz posted 24 points against East Juniata’s defense.

Wrett Smith had 12 points and Jaiden May added nine. Sam Kopacki had five EJ points.

EJ hosts Littlestown on Friday.

Mustangs drop Indians, 36-25

MIDDLEBURG — Nolan DeLong pinned Juniata’s Derrick Aurand at 2:12 of the 189-pound bout as Midd-West defeated the Indians, 36-25, in their season opener Wednesday.

Max Trawitz also pinned Juniata’s Zeran Clark at 1:01 of the 127-pound bout.

At 139, Anthony Maradiaga scored a pin against Mustang Lane Yount at 1:10.
