MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata boys basketball defeated St. Joe’s for a home victory on Thursday night, 53-50.

Juniata (3-1) got a team-high 26 points from Jasper Shepps, who was honored Thursday for reaching the 1,000-point plateau last weekend.

Brian Kuhn added eight points and Jadon Nealman posted seven. Nick Reed and Ricky Guante corralled five points apiece.

St. Joe’s (2-2) had eight three-pointers in the contest as Juniata made three.

Isaiah Crispin tallied 16 points for the WolfPack and Ethan Bowen added 11.

Chase Luckovich recorded nine points and Zach Cadman added eight points for St. Joe’s.

On Tuesday, Juniata heads to Greenwood.

Lions top Prep, 24-20

STATE COLLEGE — Nicole Lara had 10 points as Juniata Christian beat Grace Prep, 24-20, in girls hoops.

Rachel Hoover added six points for JCS and Aurora Weller tacked on four points.

For Prep, Lorna Riddle collected 15 points.

JCS (1-1) meets Belleville Christian on Tuesday.
