Huskies corral Mustangs, 88-39

LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County boys basketball got back in the win column on Monday night, defeating Midd-West 88-39.
It was a dominant performance from start to finish for the Huskies, with everyone getting involved on both ends for the boys to snap their four-game losing streak.
Junior Jack Curry led the way with a season-high 30 points, including tying the program record with eight made threes in the win.
Senior Josh Hartzler, junior Zach Keller and sophomore Dylan Bonson also were in double figures, each netting 11 points for the Huskies. Junior Lucas Hartung also had 10.
With the win, the Huskies are back to .500 at 5-5, with the team continuing their homestand in 2026 when Lower Dauphin visits the Dawg Pound on Jan. 5. JV tips at 5:30 with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
The JV Huskies also defeated the Mustangs, 61-18.
Sophomore Dylan Bonson had a strong game in JV action as well, netting 20 points in the first half. Nine of the 13 players for the JV Huskies scored in the win.
Lancaster routs Juniata, 67-49
HALIFAX — Juniata was dropped by Lancaster Country Day boys basketball during the Candy Cane Classic on Monday, 67-49.
Lancaster drilled seven threes in the contest and Juniata made six.
Jasper Shepps recorded 21 points and Ricky Guante added 11 points for Juniata. Brian Kuhn added 10 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Juniata bulldozes York Tech 69-28
HALIFAX — Juniata got 19 points from Mylee Landis and the Lady Indians steamrolled York Tech during Monday’s Candy Cane Classic, 69-28.
Lindsea Gilson posted 18 points and Maura Campagna added 13 for the Indians.
Aubryn Deihl and Grace Reinhold each corralled six points in the win.
Juniata moves to 3-4 on the season.
