ALTOONA — Juniata women’s basketball dropped a road non-conference matchup with Penn State Altoona on Thursday night. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 0-3 on the season.

Senior guard Bri Bodtorf led the way for the Eagles with a 26-point, 16-rebound performance. First-year guard Leah Skweres added 15 points with three threes off the bench in 14 minutes of play.

The Eagles started off hot with 5 made threes in the first quarter, giving them a nine-point lead going into the second. Juniata pushed the lead up to 13 in the 2nd quarter until Altoona had a late surge to pull within four at the half.

Altoona outscored the Eagles 19-11 in the 4th quarter to pull away with the win.

Juniata shot 24-56 from the field and 17-21 from the free-throw line.

The Eagles kick off Landmark Conference play next Wednesday when they head to Susquehanna.
