Mustangs drop Warriors, 5-1

MONTOURSVILLE — Midd-West boys soccer toppled Montoursville on Wednesday, 5-1, and moved to 15-2-1 on the season.

Midd-West is also 6-1-1 in PHAC play.

The Mustangs outshot the Warriors, 13-5. Each team had seven corners.

The Warriors had more saves, 8-3.

Gabe Romig, Abram Sellers, Connor Stoltzfus, Evan Devine and Wyatt Nelson each scored a goal.

Midd-West awaits their opponent in district playoffs.

CAMP HILL — East Juniata defeated Camp Hill on Wednesday, 1-0.

Makyla Coudriet scored a goal as Drue Hoffman had the assist for EJ.

EJ’s Landon Cramer had five saves.

The Lions are 7-10-1 as EJ moves to 9-8-1.

VOLLEYBALL

Rams sweep Huskies, 3-0

LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County varsity volleyball lost the first two sets, 25-14, and 25-9, and fought hard in the third before ultimately falling, 26-24, to Penns Valley on Wednesday.

Mifflin County’s Kate Hartzler led the offense with five kills while Ella Hartzler and Adisyn Lyles each added four and three kills, respectively.

Jamilee Gilbert had six assists while Lily Curry added four. Emily Porch had a team-high nine digs with Amilia Green adding eight. Leah Hartzler had a team-high six blocks.

JV Huskies fell in two sets, 25-20, and 25-17. Jayda Thomas led the Huskies’ offense with five aces and two kills. Briah Moore and Ayden Long led the defensive effort with four digs each while Lily Curry, Jovi Bush and Jayda each added three.
