Pittman sets quick time at Williams Grove
MECHANICSBURG – Dayrn Pittman set quick time in sprint car qualifying at Williams Grove Speedway with a lap of 16.623 for the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial.
Pittman is in the Kreitz Racing 69K preparing for the $75,000 to win National Open in two weeks. Pittman has finished runner- up in the Open six times. Pittman, from Owasso, Okla., is a former Grove regular. He doesn’t race much any more, but is hoping to finally get that coveted National Open win.
Following Pittman in qualifying were Freddie Rahmer, Lance Dewease, TJ Stutts and Kody Hartlaub.
Stutts, Hartlaub and point leader Troy Wagaman Jr won the sprint car heats.
Both Williams Grove and BAPS Motor Speedway are honoring the memory of Kevin Gobrecht this weekend. If the Williams Grove winner also wins at BAPS tonight, he will earn an extra $3,000.
