Indian spikers dump South Williamsport

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — The Juniata Indians put up plenty of big numbers on Saturday, but the most important one was a 3-1 victory over visiting South Williamsport in non-league volleyball action. The scores were 25-22, 25-16, 17-25 and 25-19.
The Indians were led by Hannah Grayball, who racked up 12 kills and a pair of blocks, while Miley Hack added 16 digs and six service points.
Hope Kehler turned in five digs, two aces and 11 service points, and Maddie Copeland had four digs, three aces, 10 assists and 12 service points. Grace Reinhold put in three kills, three aces and 14 service points, while Mariska Whitesel added 11 service points, seven assists, four aces and four kills.
Juniata visits Halifax today.

Tigers lose in five sets to Dragons
COCOLAMUS — The East Juniata Tigers couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead and watched visiting Lewisburg rally to a five-set victory in a non-league match on Saturday. The scores were 25-18, 25-23, 12-25, 17-25 and 8-15.
Kennedy Seigler-Lewis racked up 30 digs and 12 assists for the Tigers, while Addison Dimm added eight kills and 16 digs. Madison Snyder
also had 15 digs.
East Juniata travels to Upper Dauphin today.

Mustangs second
at own tourney
MIDDLEBURG — The Midd-West Mustangs split a pair of games to finish second at its own Midd-West Mustang Classic Tournament on Saturday.
Parker Eppley and Connor Stoltzfus each scored second-half goals as the Mustangs blanked Benton in the first game, 2-0. Nathan Horst assisted on both goals. He set up Eppley, who converted the feed at 60:30. Stoltzfus made it a 2-0 ballgame by knocking in his tally at 67:40.
Midd-West outshot Benton 7-0 and led in corners 3-0.
The Mustangs fell to Central Columbia in the second game, 3-1, as Augustus Bauman gave the Bluejays a first-half lead at 21:00. Jameson Lapos picked up the assist.
Gabe Romig tied the game in the second half as he scored off a ball from Eppley at 62:00. Central Columbia answered with a pair of tallies as Torin Karns scored at 70:00 and Gaige Gensemer followed at 74:00.
The Mustangs outshot Central Columbia 5-4 and led 6-4 in corners.
Midd-West hosts Milton on Tuesday.
