In the first quarter, the Huskies had three offensive corners but fell short on scoring with the advantage.

BOYS SOCCER

Greyhounds blank Huskies, 5-0

SHIPPENSBURG — Mifflin County was defeated by Shippensburg on Thursday, 5-0.

Shippensburg found their center back Hundt, not tightly marked, on a corner to go up around four minutes into the match.

“We didn’t get down on ourselves. We then settled in and started to play our game. The big thing we lacked though was runs and creativity by our forwards. Going into halftime 1-0 versus a team like Ship we felt like we had a chance to create and get back in it. An unfortunate rebound score put them up 2-0 and then we got away from our game. We got tired and turned the ball over which our guys know we should play smarter during these moments. We will work on our runs, delivery, and creativity to improve going forward,” Huskies assistant coach Todd Peters said.

Ship led in shots, 12-1 and Huskies led in saves, 7-1. Ship led in corners, 8-0.

JV Huskies lost to Ship, 4-0.
