LEWISTOWN — The Mifflin County wrestling team hosted its first quad meet of the season on Saturday. The Huskies started out strong, defeating Chambersburg 34-25; however, Mifflin County faced Gettysburg in its second match and fell 41-20.

Against Chambersburg, Mifflin County had some big wins, including pins from Gavin Mickey in the 215-pound bout against Aiden Hight and Paxton Shawver pinned Cody Seabolt at 114. The Huskies’ Parker Kearns also defeated Tyler Frye by pinfall in the 152-pound bout.

The Huskies’ other wins were from Deakon Sheaffer, who scored a 13-3 major decision over Reese Christine; and Avery Aurand, Andrew Alexander and Colby Seiler all won by decision in their respective matches.

When facing Gettysburg, Aurand was the only Husky to win by pinfall against Cole O’Dell at 189 pounds. Truitt Davis, Mickey and Scheaffer won by decision and Kearns won with a 22-7 technical fall over Caden Shearer.

The host Huskies did not wrestle State College, the fourth team in the field.

Mifflin County (1-1) will travel to Central Mountain on Thursday to take on The Wildcats.
