Dombkowski earns Eastern Pitcher of the Week honor

CURVE, Pa. – Minor League Baseball announced that Curve pitcher Nick Dombkowski has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the week. Dombkowski turned in a career-best performance on Wednesday against Erie. The 28-year-old left-hander allowed just one baserunner over six innings with six strikeouts to lead a 6-1 win over the SeaWolves. He became the first Curve pitcher to start a game with six no-hit innings since Roansy Contreras on May 11, 2021. Dombkowski was signed as an undrafted free agent in July of 2021 by the Pirates and has suited up for Altoona for 82 career appearances ...

Cyrell Green (Mifflin County High School/Lewistown) and Jasper Shepps (Juniata High School/Mifflintown), both at Shippensburg University, were on the losing end as Shippensburg lost a 24-16 home opener to Lock Haven.
