State government allowing abortion is wrong

To the Editor:

It seems that killing babies is a winning issue in American elections these days. The three Supreme Court Justices up for retention in Pennsylvania join in ads boldly stating they will continue to protect the right of women to kill their babies (even though judges are supposed to be impartial and usually are in promoting themselves in elections).

The fliers of the opposition supporting a ‘NO’ vote on retention conspicuously avoid the abortion issue, referring to other flawed positions of the current judges. They apparently think most Pennsylvanians support the killing of the unborn to the point that it will not be helpful to mention it.

Then, President Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ only defunded baby-killing giant Planned Parenthood for one year, which apparently has been held up in court. Trump wanted to appease all sides on the issue of killing babies by removing abortion restrictions from the Republican platform.

Fortunately for women, doctors, fathers, ministers, pharmacists selling baby-killing pills, and politicians with no morals or no backbone, God offers forgiveness to even murderers. King David, who had Bathsheba’s husband killed, the thief on the cross next to Jesus who said he deserved his punishment even though Jesus didn’t, and the Apostle Paul, who stood by in agreement with stoning the first Christian martyr, Stephen, all were offered forgiveness by God. But to receive forgiveness and entrance into heaven one day, repentance of our sins must take place.

A lawyer a few years ago changed his position on abortion after a five-minute conversation. He had said he was personally opposed to abortion but didn’t think the government should restrict a woman’s decision. He said he would not want his wife or daughter to get an abortion. When asked why he thought it was wrong for his wife or daughter but okay for others he agreed it was killing a baby. If abortion were just like removing a wart from a person, then he should not think it was wrong for his wife or daughter. He thought it was wrong for them because it was wrong. He then realized the government has the responsibility to make the killing of innocent lives illegal.
