Joe G. Morgan

Joe G. Morgan, 66, of U.S. Highway 522 South, McVeytown, passed away on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025. Born Aug. 14, 1959, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Warren G. and Myrtle I. (Wilson) Morgan. Surviving are: three stepchildren, Brian Boozel, Sabrina Boozel, and Tina Boozel, all of Louisville. Kentucky; three siblings Warren Morgan Sr. of McVeytown, Denna Gill of Wellsboro, and Patsy Scott of Wellsboro; and numerous cousins and their families. Fred R. Zimmerman, Sr., 79, of Mifflintown, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2025. His visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, followed by military honors and his memorial service at 7 p.m., all at Guss Funeral Home, Mifflintown who is assisting the family.

Wanda A. Shade, 81, of Myerstown, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 9, 1944, in Belleville, to the late Paul and Frances (Wilson) Smoker. On Sept. 21, 1968, she married Ronald L. Shade, who survives at their home. Also surviving are siblings, Sandra Metz and husband, Robert “Buck” of Belleville, David H. Smoker and wife, Joyce of McClure, Michael Smoker and wife, Marla of Belleville, and Douglas Smoker and wife, Nancy of Belleville. Iva L. Yoder, 95, of Belleville, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025 at Valley View Haven Nursing Home. She was born on Aug. 30, 1930, in Huntingdon County, to the late G. Elrose and Ruth (Kauffman) Yoder. Surviving is a sister: Effie Spicher and husband, David, of Belleville; nieces and nephews: Janette Petersheim and husband, Sam, Jolene Byler and husband, Jeff, Suzanne Byler and husband, Elwood, Keith Spicher and wife, Gina, Kent Spicher, Laurie Whyte and husband, Tom, Kevin Headings and wife, Dawn; 12 great-nieces; four great-nephews; and 23 great-great nieces and nephews.
