Thomas L. Kauffman
Thomas L. Kauffman, 84, of Reedsville passed away on April 5, 2026. He was born on Jan. 3, 1942, in Lewistown, to the late Elmer and Miriam (Zettle) Kauffman. On July 1, 1978, he married Nancy P. (Portzer) Kauffman, who survives at their home.
Along with his wife, he is survived by children: Thomas S. “Seth” Kauffman of Lemont, Meara C. Kauffman (Christian Gampe) of South San Francisco, Calif.; two grandchildren: Caspar William Gampe and Emilian Felix Gampe. He had a number of special nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Ruby. He was preceded in death by his sister Bonita Gallagher and her husband, John.
Tom graduated in 1959 from Chief Logan High School and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University and then a Master of Mathematics degree from the University of South Carolina. He first taught in Delaware and then returned to Mifflin County to teach math. He retired in 2001.
He was a member of the Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was the church treasurer for many years. He was a member of Colerain Fishing Club, a life member of NRA, and Trout Unlimited. He was an Orvis Guide for Homewaters for many years. His passions were flyfishing, crafting his own flies and hunting (most seasons).
Friends will be received at 10 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, followed by the Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. at Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Logan St., Reedsville, Pa.

Tom will be missed here on Earth, but we know he will be fishing and hunting to his heart’s content! He will be able to hear the turkeys answering his call. TIGHT LINES
