Sara J. “Susie” French

Born Nov. 16, 1955, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Savilla C. (Renninger) French.

Also preceding her in death was her twin brother, Terry J. French, on Dec. 25, 2001.

Surviving are: a brother, Lee French and wife, Anna Mary, of McVeytown; a niece, Hope Baker and great niece, Katie Haubrick and husband, John; three step nieces and nephew, Douglas Koser, Tina Knepp, Candi Koser; and eight step great nieces and nephews, Joseph Knepp, Christopher Knepp, Logan Knepp, Samuel Koser, Tyler Koser, Brooke Morningstar, Samantha Morningstar, and Jade Morningstar.

She retired from the Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging, and previously worked at Harshbargerás Store in McVeytown.

Susie was a member of the McVeytown United Methodist Church and was a poll worker for McVeytown Borough elections.

She enjoyed being outdoors, baking, and most of all time spent with her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Rev. Jeffrey Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
