Phyllis E. Aurand
Phyllis E. Aurand, 91, of Lewistown, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at her home.
Born to the late Wilbert Roy and Marion A. (Leightle) Hannon, Phyllis lived a life rooted in faith, devotion, and love for her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 69 years, Richard âRedã Aurand; her son, Daniel R. Aurand and his wife, Joanie; and her daughter, Diane E. Aurand Hooks and her husband, Keith. She is also survived by her brother, James Hannon and his wife, Carol; her sister, Eleanor Hannon Anderson and her husband, Dean; and her cherished grandchildren, Lee Marker, Jeanette Burns and her husband, Phil, Janine Brown, Julie Scott and her husband, Joe, Stacey Aurand, and Anneliese Aurand. Phyllis was further blessed with nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob, Sam, and Paul Hannon, and her sisters, Kathleen Hesketh, Lueanna Austin, and Marion Perry.
A proud graduate of Burnham-Derry High School, Class of 1952, Phyllis carried with her a strong work ethic and a warm, welcoming spirit throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Lewistown Alliance Church for many years, where her faith and fellowship were central to her life. Professionally, she dedicated many years as a bookkeeper for various local businesses and later fulfilled a dream by owning and operating the Harvard Country Gift Shoppe in Lewistown Heights.
Phyllis found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved sewing, crocheting, and painting, and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Avenue, Lewistown, with Pastors Bill Miller and John Looney officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Private interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
