John F. Wagner

John F. Wagner, 90, of Mifflintown, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

Born on June 11, 1935, in Reedsville, Mifflin County, he is a son of the late Roy F. and Zella M. (Bonson) Wagner.

On Feb. 4, 1954, he married his late wife, Barbara J. (Besch) Wagner with whom he was blessed to share over 65 years of marriage before her passing on Oct. 7, 2019.

He is survived by his sons, Michael D. Wagner and his wife, Sherry, of Thompsontown, Randy L. Wagner, of McAlisterville, John T. Wagner and his wife, Sandy, Ronald A. Wagner and his wife, Linda, all of Mifflintown, Roy F. Wagner, of McAlisterville, and Kenneth A. Wagner and his wife, Michelle, of Port Royal; grandchildren, Christine, Lisa, Michael, Lucus, Laura, Brian, Dustin, Kaylee, and Matthew; sixteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Betty Paige, of Mifflintown, Gladys Boyer and her husband, Bob, of Port Royal, Roy A. Wagner and his wife, Jeannie, of McVeytown; one sister-in-law, Jane Wagner, of Mifflintown; one brother-in-law, Harry Colabine, of Beaver Springs; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Wagner and one sister, Shirley Colabine.

In earlier life and as a lifelong passion, John farmed in Mifflin and Juniata County. He also worked at the Reedsville Feed Mill, Longenecker’s Garage, and retired after 30 years of service at Cincinnati Milacron in Carlisle.

Mr. Wagner was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thompsontown and enjoyed going camping, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

John will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his ability to help anyone in need of help.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with the Rev. William McNeal officiating. Interment will follow at the Brown’s United Methodist Cemetery in Cocolamus.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the funeral home.
