Helen L. (Hostetler) Peachey Glick
Helen L. (Hostetler) Peachey Glick, 87, of Belleville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and deep devotion to her family.
Born in Belleville, to the late J. Harvey Hostetler and Stepha (Buchka) Hostetler, Helen lived a life marked by compassion and quiet strength. She pursued her calling in nursing by attending Eastern Mennonite University and graduating in 1960 from the Riverside Hospital School of Professional Nursing in Newport News, Virginia. Helen dedicated her professional life to caring for others, working as a registered nurse at Lewistown Hospital and later at the Mifflin County State Health Center.
Helen was a lifelong and faithful member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, where she generously served in hospitality ministries and was known for her welcoming spirit and servant’s heart.
She was first married to Donald D. Peachey on Aug. 27, 1960. Their marriage was cut short by his unexpected death in 1971. On Aug. 9, 1975, she married Dwight A. Glick, with whom she shared many years until his passing in 2018.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald D. Peachey and husband, Dwight A. Glick; and her brothers, Floyd D. Hostetler and Donald R. Hostetler.
She is survived by her beloved children, Douglas E. Peachey (Kay) and Jacquelyn D. Stauffer (Thomas); and her stepchildren, Phyllis M. Yoder (Kenneth A.), Joann J. Byler (Jay), Kenneth E. Glick (Janet), and Marlene K. Peachey (Timothy). She was a cherished grandmother to five grandchildren and 9 step-grandchildren, and a proud great-grandmother to 10 great-grandchildren and 23 stepgreat-grandchildren. two step great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Orpha Glick and Luella Glick, Rhoda Peachey, Vivian Bender, Betty Peachey and Evelyn Pope.
Helen will be remembered for her gentle faith, dedication to service, and the love she poured into her family and community. Her life was a quiet testimony of care, hospitality, and steadfast devotion. She was so many things to so many people and will be missed more than is imaginable. To those who loved her, thank you.
Helen’s family would like to thank Valley View Retirement Community for their attentive and compassionate care during their mother’s stay, as well as thank all family and friends for blessing mom with their many visits over that last 10 weeks.
Family will receive friends and a viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with funeral service following at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Maple Grove Mennonite Church. Burial will be at Locust Grove Cemetery.
