Harold Edwin Dyer
Harold Edwin Dyer, 93, of Belleville, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Valley View.
Born Aug. 25, 1932, in Milton, he was the son of the late Harold S. and Vina (Diffenderfer) Dyer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Nichols.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Charolotte A. (Hoy) Dyer; children, Linda M. Christman and husband, Philip, of Louisville, O.H., Karen D. Askins, and husband, Tim, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Jerry E. Dyer and wife, Kim, of McVeytown. He leaves behind grandchildren, Kara Kosloskus and husband, Rick, Leah Walters and husband, Ben, Jason Christman and wife, Marie, K.D. Jones and husband, Madison, John Dyer Askins, Julie Hartsock and husband, A.J. Jared Dyer and wife, Nikki.
He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Caroline and Caitlin Kosloskus, Kendle Walters, Owen, Collin, Parker and Paige Christman, Charlotte and Whitner Jones, Bryce and Sarah Hartsock, and Cole, Grady, and Johanna Dyer.
Harold graduated from Milton High School and went on to earn degrees from both Penn State and Colorado State.
He was a United States Army veteran.
He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday school. Harold was also a member of the Moose and Chief Logan Lions.
He was an Industrial Arts teacher at Rothrock High School and later at Lewistown High School. In his later years, he became owner of Gary’s Hearing Aids.
Harold enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He had a special fondness for trips to Maine, as well as going camping and making maple syrup. Known as a master craftsman, Harold built with love, shaping both wood and lives.
Services are private and held at the convenience of the family.
Private interment will be held at Mt. Rock Cemetery.
