Dora Luella Vega
Dora Luella Vega, 94, of Lewistown, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born Aug. 23, 1931, in Alfarata, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Edna S. (Henry) Fye.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alberto Vega; an infant sister; siblings, John Elsworth Fye, Berton Fye, Bertha Lash, Charles Fye, Marion Fye, Leroy Fye, Ruthie Fye, Gary Lee Fye; sons-in-law, Jeffrey Krepps, Darryl Adams, Robert Wolfley; grandchildren, Charlie Lyter, Michael Wolfley, Samuel Lyter, Dorothy McNeil; great-grandchildren, Demetrius, Raezhan, Katreece.
Dora leaves behind a large and loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her children, Edna ‘Toot’ Wolfley, of Lewistown, Stephen Vega and wife, Peg, of Burnham, Maria Vega and companion, Thomas Lee Fairbanks, of Alfarata, Mary Rodriguez and husband, Fidel, of Lewistown, Roberta Krepps, of Milroy, Laura Adams, of Cheyenne, Wyo., Angela Jones and companion, Carlitos Montanez, of Lewistown, Christopher ‘Mike’ Hackett, of Alfarata, Maurice McNeil, of Lancaster; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren.
A faithful member of Paintersville C&MA Church, Dora lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
In her working years, she was employed as an assembler at Sechan Electronics and later worked at the QVC Warehouse.
Above all else, Dora was the matriarch and heart of her family who touched many lives. She witnessed and nurtured five generations of her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose home was always open to anyone in need. Her home was always a place of comfort, where family gathered, stories were shared, and love was always felt. Over the past several years, she has been blessed with wonderful caregivers. Dora touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and by those whose lives she shaped in lasting ways. Dora’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished so deeply and in the countless memories they will carry forward.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
A second viewing will be held from 11 am to 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2026, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, with a funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m., with Reverend Bernard Carpenter officiating.
Interment will take place at Birch Hill Cemetery.
