Cynthia (Cindy) J. Horning

Cynthia (Cindy) J. Horning, 70, of Mcalisterville, passed away on March 4, 2026, peacefully at her home with her daughter by her side.

Cindy was born July 2, 1955 to the late Harry Foose Sr and the late Nancy (Bowen) Foose.

On Sept. 28, 1974, she married the love of her life, Larry Horning, celebrating 50 years of marriage before his passing on Oct. 20, 2024.

Surviving are; her daughter, Christy Horning Kerstetter and her husband, Andy, of McAlisterville; grandsons, Jordan Kerstetter and his wife, Meghan, of Enola, Evan Kerstetter and his companion, Katie Chu, of Mifflintown, and Caden Kerstetter and his wife, Molly, of Mcalisterville; great grandchildren, Everleigh Kerstetter and Rustyn Kerstetter; brothers, Herb Foose, Fred Foose, Mike Foose, and Jerry Foose; many nieces and nephews; her best friend, Deb Huber; and her beloved dogs Henry and Tanner.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Scott Foose and Steve Foose and nephews, Todd Foose and Danny Foose.

Earlier in life, Cindy worked for Lyons Fashions in McAlisterville. After the factory, she worked at Ingram Micro, and then retired as a personal care attendant.

After retirement, Cindy continued to care for her mom and brother Jerry for years and enjoyed visiting her childhood home in Tuscarora, going out to eat with Larry, sitting out back on the patio while Larry grilled for them, working on wood crafts, her dogs, spending time with her grandchildren and watching the animals at her daughter’s mini farm.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, 517 Main St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Graham Fowler officiating. Interment will be private.

Per Cindy’s wishes, there will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Horning’s memory can be made to the Mifflin Co & Juniata Co. Pet Pantry, P.O Box 3, McAlisterville, PA 17049.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
