Anne Marie Showers

Born Aug. 26, 1950, in Lehigh, she was the devoted daughter of the late Richard F. and Elizabeth S. (Golembiecki) Showers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Showers.

Anne Marie is survived by her loving brothers, Robert J. Showers and his wife, Cathy, and Richard W. Showers and his family. She cherished her nieces and nephews, Josie Showers and Jason and Liz Showers, and took great joy in her great-niece and great-nephew, Aubrey and Jonathan Showers.

Anne Marie dedicated many years of service to Sacred Heart School, where she faithfully served as principal until her retirement. An educator for more than 30 years she was known for guiding and inspiring countless students with both wisdom and compassion. A devoted Catholic, she was a longtime and faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown. Her love for her faith was evident in the many ways she served her parish community, including preparing the altar flowers and offering her time and talents wherever they were needed.

Gifted with remarkable artistic ability, Anne Marie was a talented and accomplished painter, widely admired for her beautiful iconography. A graduate of Dallas Sr. High School and College Misericodia she received her Master of Arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She also found great joy in traveling and treasured the time she spent with her family, whose lives were enriched by her kindness, creativity, and steadfast faith.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, with Father William Weary officiating.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
