Richard E. Mendler

Richard E. Mendler, 70, of Burnham, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on May 25, 1955, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Richard and Sara (Davison) Mendler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael H. Snyder; uncle and best friend, Donald Mendler.

He is survived by his wife, Connie E. (Ingram) Mendler, who he married June 25, 1995; children, Dana Sayers (Tony, and family, of Port Royal, Ashley Heimbaugh, of Belltown, Nicole Fisk and family, of Phoenix, Arizona, Ryan Coffee and family, of Chambersburg; step-daughters, Michelle Ingram, of Lewistown, Donna Snyder (Mike), of Lewistown; grandchildren, Owen Heimbaugh, Lola Heimbaugh, Robert Ingram, Rachel Snyder (Kenny); great -grandchildren, Andrea Ingram, Esme Kuhns, Jude Shearer; one great-great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Jack Mendler, Patty Henry; and loved like family, Amber Brown.

Rich was the owner of Mendler’s Body Shop. He then went on to driving truck for Danny King and Dan Pierce. Most recently since his retirement, he enjoyed working at Tractor Supply and hauling the Amish.

He was a graduate of Chief Logan High School.

Rich enjoyed hunting and camping. He loved to talk to socialize and was very outgoing.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

A private graveside service will take place at Maitland Brethren Cemetery.
