Judith A. Havice
Judith A. Havice, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, 85, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at her home.
Born Sept. 19, 1940, in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Mervin L. and Eva M. (Stine) Mensch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Faye Hauck, Margie Focht, and Holly McAnall. Judith was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald G. “Zeke” Havice, whom she married on June 7, 1964; her beloved sons, Derrick Havice and his wife, Mary Allio, of Linglestown, and Jason Havice and his wife, Stephanie, of Connecticut; and her cherished grandchildren, Ian Havice, Julia Havice, and Owen Ritter.
Judith dedicated many years of her life to education, first serving with the West Snyder School District and later with the Mifflin County School District, where she was a respected Home Economics teacher until her retirement. Her love for teaching reflected her nurturing spirit and her desire to enrich the lives of others.
In her free time, Judith found joy in arts and crafts, sewing, tending to the flowers she lovingly planted around her Lewistown home and at her summer retreat in Canada, and baking cookies with her grandchildren. An avid traveler, she and her husband explored state and national parks across the country in their RV, creating countless memories along the way. She will be fondly remembered for her boundless energy, creativity, and her determination to always stay active and engaged in life.
In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
