Dorothy L. ‘Dottie’ McKnight

Born Nov. 26, 1949 in Allensville, she was a daughter of the late Walter R. and Geraldine M. (Shehan) Wagner. Her husband of 59 years, David J. McKnight Sr., whom she married on June 30, 1966, survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, David J. McKnight Jr. and wife, Kuniko, of McClure, Andy A. McKnight and wife, Becky, of McClure; three siblings, Lee Wagner, of McVeytown, Hulda McCartle and husband, Herb, of McVeytown, James Wagner and wife Amy of Huntingdon; two grandchildren, Miya McKnight and David J. McKnight III.

She was preceded in death by four siblings, William Wagner, Marie Reed, Mary Wagner, and Ruth Wagner.

Dottie was a homemaker and a member of the Strodes Mills Baptist Church. She also served as a Sunday School teacher and helped with school release time at the church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at the Strodes Mills Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan God officiating. Interment will be in Spring Run Cemetery, McVeytown.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, at the Strodes Mills Baptist Church.
