Michele C. Smith

Michele C. Smith, 57, of Lewistown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at her home. She had come to Lewistown to live with her mother due to a long illness

Born Jan. 2, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Daryl J. Clemens and Carol Ann (Bingman) Paige who survives.

Michele’s mother, Carol (Bingman) Paige is a native of Lewistown and has resided there since her retirement. Michele’s father, Daryl Clemens, also a Lewistown native and step-mother, Elizabeth, are both deceased. Michele’s brother Christopher Clemens survives and lives in Las Vegas, Nev.

Paternal grandparents Zella and Roscoe Clemens are both deceased as are her maternal grandparents, Helen and Charles Bingman.

Michele was a 1985 graduate of Upper Merion High School in King of Prussia. She attended Villanova University where she graduated in 1989 from the Nursing Program.

Michele began her career in nursing at St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital in northeast Philadelphia. She then spent the rest of her career working in the operating room at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In addition to working as an operating room nurse, she also educated new nurses at the hospital. Many co-workers at CHOP sent flowers, cards and personal testimonies as to how patient and caring she was in her educational role in OR nursing and how much she will be missed.

She was and remains respected and beloved by her former students and all who knew her. One of her students writes, “Michele taught me so much, not only about work and general surgery, but also about life. She was so loved here at CHOP and her legacy will live on for years to come.”

She enjoyed spending time traveling.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
